Most of us rely on a few apps every day to get things sorted in our personal lives, whether it be Google Maps, Facebook, Snapchat or Tinder (or Happn), but are you making the most of the wealth of apps available to make your work life go that bit smoother?
Here are 10 of our favourite apps for getting the job done – when that job is being an events professional that is!
Evernote has become the de facto digital notepad, it’s an easy-to-use, free app that helps you remember everything across all of your devices. Evernote lets you take notes, snap photos, create to-do lists, scan business cards, record voice reminders and makes it all searchable.
Ookla is an essential part of testing a conference venue’s wifi speed for us. Quick and easy it lets us keep track of things if we suspect any connectivity issues.
Dropbox lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Access any file you save to your Dropbox from all your computers, iPhone, iPad, and the web. With Dropbox you’ll always have your important work with you, particularly useful if there’s lots of documents from the office you need with you at an event or conference.
One of the most popular ticketing platforms out there. If you handle your event ticketing on Eventbrite or have booked your tickets via them, you’ll definitely want this app. No more printing out bits of paper to take along with you it’s all easy and digital. Just how we like it!
This clever little app allows you to use your phone camera as a scanner. It straightens up your wonky angles and does a pretty good job of turning your shots into real A4 pdfs. The free version puts a small CamScanner watermark on your docs, but there are also 69p and £2.99 versions if you need something more professional.
The app version of this wonderful piece of software for getting everything in order. Touts itself as the world’s number 1 project management tool, get this if you need to manage your to do lists on the go.
Managing your Twitter and Facebook accounts, scheduling tweets, keeping an eye on the event hashtag and creating custom lists of people – it’s all here in the Hootsuite app.
Within the UK Citymapper is only in London at the mo, but if you need to know how to get to Olympia or Earls Court as quickly as possible, this app is the best thing for the job. Pop in your destination and CityMapper calculates the fastest or cheapest routes via trains, tubes, buses, walking, cycling, taxi and even jetpack. If you’re in London, you can’t do without it.
Make those connections permanent by extending your networking to LinkedIn. With a rather slick app you’ll find it simple to add new contacts and also read the latest shared content within your industry and network.
Well, we’d be silly not to include us really wouldn’t we! Our fully branded event apps can provide
