It’s that time again, September has come to an end and we are already in October, dare we say it, just months away from Christmas. Yikes!! But let’s not think about that for now, we have plenty to keep you busy with next month, we’re keeping that ‘C’ word at bay for a little while yet!

Diaries out, #EventProfs, here’s what October has to offer:

Head to Twitter to join one of the biggest online events for #EventProfs. Chit chat with professionals from around the world as they talk about the industry and swap tips and ideas. Follow the #EventProfsTalk hashtag to take part.

The Event Planner Expo (2-3 October)
TKP New York Conference Center, New York City

With more than 150 exhibitors and 3000 #EventProfs in attendance, the Event Planner Expo is a great place to check out what’s happening stateside. Expect expert seminars and inspiration from some of the best in the business.

Virtual Meets Reality (4 October)
2:30-6pm
HP, Wood Street, London

Join HP, Jigsaw24 and EVCOM to learn more about how immersive technologies are changing what agencies can achieve in the UK. A great way to arm yourself with the latest AR knowledge, as well as a great opportunity to network with some likeminded professionals.

Designing The Participant Journey (8 October)

Max Fellows, Director of Client Services at MCI Experiences explores approaches to designing participant journey’s at events. A successful event is one that engages participants in myriad ways. This session demonstrates how design elements – tangible and intangible – can contribute to greater engagement by participants thus creating behaviour change and new ways of thinking.

Content Creation and the Experience Wave (15 October)

Callum Gill, Director of Innovation at DRP Group explores content creation and how to plan an experience that is made up of impactful mini-moments in time. This includes the various elements that can be used to to create a successful programme and how to manage it.

Event Organisers Summit (15-16 October)
Sofitel, London Heathrow

The Event Organisers Summit brings together senior event professionals and suppliers in order to build relationships and connect decision makers with great new services. It’s a highly focused event with plenty of opportunities for one to one meetings, interactive seminars and networking opportunities.

Tech It Forward: Hackathon (17 October)

A ‘hackathon’ by ‘Women Driven Development’, where the focus is on the quality of the code, the people and the journey, with the aim of using technology to support communities and tech things forward!

The Showman’s Show 2018 (17-18 October)
Newbury Showground, Berkshire

Interested in making some new contacts for outdoor events or festivals? This annual autumn showcase brings together some of the UK’s finest suppliers and services. With more than 4500 visitors, it’s a great way to start planning your outdoor events for 2018.

EventLAB (23-24 October)
The Barbican, London

Brought to you by our friends at Hire Space, this event promises interactive networking opportunities, leading speakers and inspiration sessions and showcases of top suppliers from across the industry. This is one not to miss. We’ll be providing the tech at this event, so you’ll be able to see Team Noodle in action if you’re attending!

WOMEX (24-28 October)
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will transform into the capital of global music this October, bringing together over 2,500 professionals from over 90 countries for a sensational musical fair of grand proportions. This event boasts 7 stages, 700+ exhibiting companies, 80 speakers, films, an opening concert and an award ceremony – a must for music focused #EventProfs!

Citizen Event (26 October)
8.30-11am
BRAND EXCHANGE, 3 Birchin Lane, London, EC3V 9BW

Held on the last Friday of every month, Citizen Event is one of the most relaxed and welcoming events for event professionals in London. No presentations, no speakers, just a chance to network, have a chat and meet other people working in the events industry.

Scenography, Stage and Set Design (29 October)
5-6pm

Robert Dunsmore, Freelance Creative Director discusses his approaches to scenography, stage and set design for various types of events. The session considers venue constraints, budgets, client objectives, speaker and performance movement alongside appropriate sight lines and design aesthetics. How a stage and set design contributes to an immersive experience is discussed in a workshop that includes participation from the attendees.
