At Noodle Live, when we’re not making great event tech for events, we like having ALL the fun, particularly if we get to hang out with other cool #EventProfs and do some great networking at the same time. So, as we spend a bit of time every month looking at all the cool events that are taking place around the UK, we thought we would share our quick list of events and conferences for #Eventprofs. Here’s what’s coming up this October:
EventPlannersTalk (October 2, 9, 16, 23)
Can’t face the autumn weather? Don’t worry – you can network from the comfort of your own sofa with #EventPlannersTalk. It takes place on Twitter every Monday evening from 9-10pm GMT. Just follow the hashtag #EventPlannersTalk.
Event Tech Question Time with Noodle Live! (October 4)
We’re not biased or anything – but we reckon this event will be pretty rad. Join us – the team at Noodle Live – for a digital roundtable and Q&A session. It’s completely free and we’ll be answering questions including: how do I make sure the venue wi-fi is up to scratch? How can I drive uptake and usage of my event app? How can I monetise my tech? What’s the future of event tech? There will also have plenty of time to ask your own questions too!
The Event Planner’s Expo (October 4)
With more than 150 exhibitors and 3000 #EventProfs in attendance, the Event Planner Expo is a great place to check out what’s happening over the pond. Expect expert seminars and inspiration from the likes of Martha Stewart and other celebrity names.
IoT Showcase (October 5)
IoT is going to be a huge trend for events in the next few years. Some of the best IoT startups will be showcasing their tech products at this industry event. It’s a great opportunity to get hold of some really cool tech before it even hits the market.
MCE South Europe (October 8-10)
Find out about beautiful venues across Europe and network with MICE providers and suppliers at this event in the beautiful town of Catania. The event is part educational and part social, so you’ll have plenty of time to rest and relax as well as doing business.
Academic Venue Showcase (October 11)
Emirates Stadium, London
A free event that is dedicated to venues within academic institutions. There will be 40 different venues showcasing their spaces as well as some great speakers and sessions.
IMEX America (October 10-12)
Las Vegas, USA
America’s worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events. Find out how they do expos, California style! This event will feel huge to any European with more than 3,000 exhibitors. If you can make the trip, it’s sure to give you plenty of food for thought.
The Showmans Show (October 18-19)
Priors Court Road, Berks
Interested in making some new contacts for outdoor events or festivals? This annual autumn showcase brings together some of the UK’s finest suppliers and services. With more than 4500 visitors, it’s a great way to start planning your outdoor events for 2018.
London Venue Awards (October 20)
The Brewery, EC1Y
Enjoy lunch and drinks as you celebrate the capital’s finest venues and locations. London leads the way in offering unusual, exciting and interesting venues for any function or event, so this could be an afternoon of tough competition.
The Event Organisers Summit (October 23-24)
Grange Tower Bridge Hotel
The Event Organisers Summit brings together senior event professionals and suppliers in order to build relationships and connect decision makers with great new services. It’s a highly focused event with plenty of opportunities for one to one meetings, interactive seminars and networking opportunities.
EventLAB 2017 (October 23-24)
A brand new event on the calendar for #EventProfs and one we are super excited about. Brought to you by Hire Space, this event promises interactive networking opportunities, leading speakers and inspiration sessions and showcases of top suppliers from across the industry. This is one not to miss.
Event Tech Talks – How to Balance Multiple Technologies and Vendors (October 24)

How Much Does Workplace Matter (October 25)

This interactive workshop will explore the impact of your office on productivity and innovation. It will look at all aspects of the office environment from new tech to workplace culture.
Citizen Event (October 27)
The Long Acre, St Martins Lane
This event is one of our favourite networking events for #EventProfs. It takes place on the last Friday of every month and is a relaxed way to meet other professionals in the industry. There are no speakers or presentations, just plenty of great conversation and a fun start to your Friday.
Festival Congress (October 30-31)
National Museum Cardiff
The largest gathering of independent festival organisers in the UK and a good time to boot. The organisers have created a really upbeat, lively event with TED x style talks, fireside chats and interactive workshops.
